Lake des allmands The fish are on fire in lake des allmands. Bass and crappie are biting just about every cast. I went monday and today and i filled the boat up.

What a shame This is why I stopped posting reports. About eight or nine years ago this was a good place to find useful fishing information. A report should consist of where(generally), how, what, conditions, etc. Nobody is asking for your honey hole; just basic info. That's what a REPORT is.
Unfortunately with the .com explosion a computer has become like a car. Just because someone can sit behind the wheel and step on the gas doesn't mean they can drive. Every knucklehead out there with a PC and a digital camera is now posting REPORTS with pictures of their new boat or set of rods. I speak with eleven years of experience as a computer network engineer. If a report is actually about fishing then it's usually not very useful. It's more like 'Hey look at all the fish I caught. Too bad you don't know where I caught 'em all.' Then someone insults the poster for keeping a few fish and all the knuckleheads start fighting. Next thing you know they're arguing about everything from politics to college sports.
It's too bad what has happened to this site. What was once a very useful format for sportsmen has become a forum for idiots.

Here's my latest and probably last report for a while. I have been catching bass consistently out of Bayou Black Marina in Gibson. No specific spots b/c the pattern is the same just about everywhere there from Copasaw to Turtle Bayou. The fish are deep in the marsh. You've got to find ponds with grass and don't be afraid to get in there. I've been catching on weedless swimbaits and also swimming a pegged worm simply because you can work them right through the grass without getting snagged. Junebug or any dark color has been producing. They also bite early and late at the mouths of cuts when the water is moving. And yes I do keep a limit of smaller fish every now and then.
Bass Also none of yall would catch squat if the diversion wasnt there in lake cat. Yall should be super thankful to live next door to a great fishing area. That place would be saltwater intruded without the davis pond diversion so think about that guys. Anyway if you cant go out there and catch a abass on a plastic worm anywhere in that lake in the grass then you are not a good fisherman lol.
Giving Info Just remember, everyday we breath air, it is a gift, and when we pass if we are blessed with Heaven, it is a gift we did not earn or deserved.
Everday, reciprocate, give something to someone undeserving, such as fishing info, and let God sort the rest out.
Limits If you know of people who are breaking the law, there is a number to call to take care of it. It's called Operation Game Thief and the number is 1-800-442-2511. They may not respond to every call they get, but if they get a number of calls from one area, I bet they set up in the area and start checking. I know the game wardens regularly patrol the area around here anyway because I see them all the time, they are easy enough to find. As far as people posting their catch, GET OVER IT, THAT IS WHAT THIS SITE IS FOR!!! IT'S PUBLIC WATER AND A PUBLIC FISHERY.

sounds good chackadeux Let's go hit our honey hole in Lake Beouf again. Just meet me at the launch at 5 a.m. I went yesterday afternoon and and caught my limit of sac-au-lait. There on big time. Lots of grass, but their their. Then next week we can maybe go whipe out the rest of the fish in Lake DesAlmonds before the other 1 million fisherman on here do.
freshwater If you would post the exact GPS locations, I won't have to drive wide open looking for the fish. Seriously, don't have to worry about my crew. Don't really care for freshwater fishing.
Later I'll catch y'all later. Headed to the Lake to catch all the fish I can fit then just ride around at full speed. The beauty is I don't even fish fresh-water normally, but if the fishing is 'on fire' then I am going! I'm briging 7 boats and 20 guys and we don't know what a limit is! Man, thank goodness for the internet!
Please don't post anything about catching fish in the Gulf of Mexico or estuaries. See, that's where I usually fish and I don't want anybody else catching all MY fish!

Bass Yall all spoiled man. Yall spoiled bc south la has the best fishing in the entire country and yall still argue over a spot. I mean whats the big deal you could fish a diff place every day the rest of your life and never hit the same place twice? This is funny yall keep up the arguing.
Fish It's not just wanting to keep people from catching fish. It's the fact that I, and quite a few other people have done years of homework, years of trial and error and kept years of records trying to learn when the best times are. When the best tides are. When the best winds are. What the best river readings are, etc. etc. etc. And there are now tons of people that just read the newspaper or this site and wait for someone to tell them where to go. They know nothing about the area and they want someone to tell them where the landing is, what bait to throw and what canal to fish. Then, when they get there and can't catch fish where they were told to go, they spend all day riding around, LOST, and at half throttle throwing a 10 foot wake and act like they are doing you a favor by slowing down. Those of you that fish the Spillway regularly know what I am talking about. Once the fishing gets good enough for people to talk about, every jo-jo with a boat is there. They prep their boat while they are sitting on the ramp, that is the first time they have tried to crank their motor in months and they learn it won't start, they ride every canal in the area and have every bank muddy by 8:30 in the morning then they get back to the ramp and you have to watch them spend 20 minutes trying to get the boat on the trailer. If I can delay all of that in an area I am catching fish in, you bet I will.
As for the people paying no attention to limits, that's another story. That is not the only thing that is pitiful. There are also people that will go EVERY SINGLE DAY and keep everything they can and bring 3 or 4 boats with them everytime they go! These are the first people to ask 'Where are all the fish???' once they quit biting. They don't think to look in their freezer at the 30 ziploc bags full of filets.
For those of you that don't know what I am talking about. Go to Old River in Morganza once the Advocate talks about the sac a lait being caught. Get to the landing early, like 2 a.m. and watch people start lining up. Some guys wait 2-3 hrs to launch their boat and then have to park 3/4 of a mile from the ramp.
If I can keep people away from an area I am catching fish in, I will do it. Don't think it's a 'greed' thing as much as it is I like catching fish without the aggravation of 4 million people riding around because their barber's, sister's, garbageman's, 3rd cousin caught fish there last week. And yes, I have asked for help from people before and I have helped people SEVERAL times when they have asked for advice.

limit Those of yall who are going out there keeping yall limit and respecting the laws, thats fine. The idiots I am referring to are keeping their limit of small fish in the morning and going back in the sfternoon keeping another limit. They have been doing this everyday for a while now. And other guys are out there just keeping everything they they catch, never stopping at the limit. But I guess yall would just say that they are just enjoying fishing right. We are making these comments because we know how many of the people from around here are. YALL DONT. There are hardly ever any game wardens around and these people take advantage of the fish when they are biting. Really, who can eat 1000 fish in a week??? They are catching everything they can and many are selling these fish. But I guess thats ok too right??? They just making a little extra cash huh??
sierra alpha delta Sierra Alpha Delta is my first thought. In all my years on this site, all 3 of them and through all the countless friends I have made through this site, it has gone from a very friendly and friendly banter site to an unfriendly, everyone yelling at someone for no good reason site. Banter means humorous teasing by the way. When I joined, everyone was helpful and we all knew when to have a good laugh. Well a certain split of a few former members took away most of the friendly banter, but that's not all bad. Now it has gone in a direction that nobody can get a break. People calling people idiots and yelling at them for letting other people know what they're catching and where they're catching fish. There's more than 20 fish in the area that someone is catching fish at. It's amazing how immature some people can be when it comes to fishing. I'll gladly give up a fishing spot to anyone either on the water or on Sportsman. Like yesterday, we caught all our fish just past the pilings in Voss Canal in Dularge. No problem, there's plenty of fish in there and we left the bass biting. And when you post a comment on somebody's report, before you start typing, read what is to the right of the report body box. Particularly the top half of it.
Anyone of you guys bashing this fella for keeping fish or sharing info, in the future, be honorable, do not read a single report posted a fellow angler.
Esp. mine, I typically post coords. and bait, etc..
Some people have kids that desperately need to take them fishing and catch some fish, and they typically do not have the time to find and locate fish.
After reading some of these responses, my only thought was..
my opinion couldnt help but add my opinion...maybe what some of you call 'ruining' a fishing spot is just sharing the fun you had with a fellow sportsman. some people will go and rape and pillage but most will simply keep a few and enjoy the privlages we have in south louisiana. i try to help people when i can and i know i am a good enough fisherman to have more than one spot. especailly when its an entire lake thats hot. i dont fish that area and have no intention to. i do however fish in catawachie and see the masses of boats out there. even with the pressure there is still loads of fish caught. those of you out there that try to claim a lake or canal obviously cant fish, but can only catch when anyone can catch. next time someone beats you to your favorite spot try fishing for another spot, there are millions of hot spots in every area.

Way Too Go !!!! switchback1 killing the bass and sacalait in the cabanage..and redfish in the temple...me and 5 of of my fishing buddies go every weekend ....love it filling my freezer up...so too all that want too bash a person reporting what they catch ...i hope this swells your nuts ....keep up the fishing and dont let these idiots keep you from posting your reports .....
Purpose Not trying to ruffle anyones feathers but what is the purpose of this site and others like it if a fishermen can't post reports on where they caught fish. Who cares!!!! You actually still have to catch the fish, they don't just jump in your boat if a new person goes fish there. By the way to all those crying about this guys post, what are yall on here for to begin with. If I had to guess, trying to find out where the hot spots are right now. But heaven forbid someone post a decent report from your neck of the woods (and mine)Probably will get flack from this post but not really worried. There are MUCH more serious problems we need to worry about than this!

Bass Yall people are absolutely ridiculous. This is crazy its just a fish lol thats it. The ldwf lets you keep 10 bass for a reason. Who has the right to bash ppl for following the law lol. I mean really get a life. I gaurantee there more fish in lake cataouatche and desallemands then you can shake a stick at. All this over a dang fish i mean come on guys.

Switchback I see you bragging about catching fish in Cataouachie too huh. Well I bet your not catching any big ones right??? And dont waste your time lying to me because all the big bass from there are in peoples freezers. We finally had a chance to have one of the greatest lakes on the country, and all the greedy bastards here in South Louisiana had to ruin that. Now yall are gonna do the same with every fish swimming in Lake desalmonds. I seen these fish, 95% of them are sacalait and 90% are too small to keep. Where are yall at moderators? What do yall think about this. Do yall support the unnessisary slaughter of fish that can not escape??? Or are yall gonna just put a story about it in the magizine to make sure it is fished out completelt???

Thats right Another real one here. All you cyber fisherman need to learn how to spend time on the water and find yall own fish. Let me repeat what I said about these fish. These fish are only there because the bad water from everywhere else has forced them there. If it was deer season and the water was really high and had the deer herd stranded on the only ridge, would yall call all yall podnas and tell them to hurry and come kill as many deer as possible while there stranded and cant go anywhere? Well thats the same situation with these fish in Lake Desalmonds. And yall call yallselves Sportsman???? If yall do not regularly fish lake desalmonds, then stay the hell out of there and give these fish a chance to survive.

Catouchie I fish there alot and me and my buddies are still catching our limit everytime we go, i geuss you just need to know where to go. I do not mind helping other people catch fish, thats what true sportsmans do.Oh yea and yes i caught alot of small fish but if you would of been there you would seen the other boats looking at me like was crazy for throwing them back.

Why!!!! NO!!!!!!!WHY!!!!! me and Chackadoe just found a new good spot to fish with nobody in the area and you got to ruin it!!! WHY!!! I lie about all my fishing spots and I wish everyone else would do the same. The internet has ruined many fishing and hunting spots. Thanks........now I got to find yet another hot spot!! Please leave the small sac-au-lait alone.... A better place to fish right now is in Lake Beouf right now......its on Fire!! I went to LAKE BEOUF yesterday and caught 50 lake runners, 10 nice goggleye, and 5 beutiful sac-au-lait. Everything was caught in the canals around Lake Beouf.....water was beutiful!!!
Size limit Ya\\\'ll need to leave them little babies alone. They not even legal yet. I caught 60 and only kept 10! Their is a size limit for that lake, only 12in and up!
Huntnut and beast I dont have any freezer burnt fish. Know why? Its because I dont keep anything anymore. There are plenty enough people out there keeping everything they catch and not giving a damn about the fish population in the future. If you go catch enough for you to eat a couple times thats fine, but thats not how it works. I have seen it happen too many times. People will continue to go untill there is nothing left. And the thing about being a sportsman? If you were a true sportsman, you would know how to find your own fish and not rely on this website to see where they are biting.

wow Well now I know why there were 40 boats this morning in the lake! thanks alot. Just like cataouchie. Welll all the fish they had are not there anymore. The only reason they have fish right now is the bad water pushed them out of the bayous. This website has killed cataouchie and for the few fish they had in the lake, well kiss that good bye to.
Greedy? Don't want a fight, but bass grabber you accuse switch of being greedy when you don't want him to share the news that fishing is on in Lake DesAllemands. Come on, sounds like you want all the fish for you! Please keep what you can eat and release the rest.
small fish Switchback, Seems like you are just tryin to ruin this lake. Now they gonna have 100 idiots runnin around out there till there aint a fish left. Yes there are a few fish in the lake but they are all small and the only reason they are there is because the water in all of the canals is bad. The high water forced bad water out of the swamp and there were major fish kills in all the canals. The fish in the lake are the only ones that made it out of the canals and survived. Now a whole bunch of greedy people will continue going to lake desalmonds untill there are zero fish left.

Lake des allmands The crappie are biting on any color tube jigs and i have been catching the bass on a white crank bait on the mouth of the canals. There no one spot i mean i caught fish all over.
wow yea i went a while back and only saw a ton of alligators. i dont know much about the lake other than tht its only abt 10-20 feet deep and has alot of catfish ans alligaTORS. a little bit moore info would be greatly appreciated.
