LAKE CONDITIONS: The lake level is 170.40' with both generators shut down. South Toledo is clear, mid lake is mostly clear to slightly stained and the northern one-third of the lake is stained but not muddy in most places. Water temps are running from 67 to 69 degrees which is about the same as the past few weeks. However, look for that to ease upward by this weekend. Other good news is that the Texas SRA (Sabine River Authority) crews have been replacing buoys this past week.

Need a little help. I'm thinking of launching my boat at petes landing and trying to find some fish. I will be bass fishing, perch jerking, and setting a few jugs. Any tips? Ive been fishing up and down the amite from bayview and I'm tired of not having any luck. I just want to be able to enjoy myself and have a little time with out a ton of boat traffic

BEST BASS TO DATE
GREAT Bass fishing trip on 5-2 with my son, Chuck Fasola, his father in law Jimmy Jeffers. Fished a private lake in Ms and had a trip of a life time for me and my son.

We caught in excess of 50 bass mostly over 4 lbs to 8.5 lbs. Chuck caught his largest bass of 7.5 lbs and I caught my largest bass at 8.5 lbs plus a couple in the 7lb range.

Had the company bass tournament this past saturday ( 5/4/13). We put in at Doirons on the Verret side. A lot of the water was muddy, but we were able to find some good water in a few areas. The fishing was pretty tough, we caught 10 bass total but only had 2 keepers to weigh in. Apparently it was tough for a lot of guys too, because we took 2nd with 2 fish for close to 4 lbs. The winner also only had 2 keepers. We caught all our bass in the clean water, not far from the launch, fishing slow redshad worm, redshad color craw, and the top water popper was hot in the early morning. (Missed a few on the popper). All in all it was a fun, pretty day to be out on the water.

Lee Lindsey after finishing second place the last two months got it all together this month at Lake Ferguson sat. May 4th. 1st. place with 13.47 pounds, Wayne Achord 2nd. 12.50 pounds, Danny 'P-Wee' Grubbs 3rd. with 12.34 pounds, Tommy Ashley weighed the largest with a 3.90 pounder.

Where's a good place to fish in a 12' bateau ? We aren't worried as much about catching fish (mostly just having fun) , but we are getting bored of going to Pete's landing and not catching much (the fishing has sucked there for us if you were wondering). Went fishing in Henderson sat , all i can say is i did all the fishin my wife did the catchin , she was loving every minute of it , she caught this one on a June Bug Zoom Fluke , 16 1/2 inchs, i missed about 5 on frogs and never caught nuthin.

Fun day at city park
Went to the park earlier and had some fun catching and releasing some bass. They were caught on Zoom pumpkin seed worms. One of them completely ripped the bait some small and some decent size.

4-26-13
Fished Chicot all day Friday. I caught 27 bass between 3 p.m. & 5 p.m. I threw my tackle box: to include TX rig plastics, blades, buzz baits, poppers, crank baits, drop shot, jigs,flukes, & a secretive jerkbait by lucky craft. All of my fish fell for the jerkbait its a Lucky craft slender pointer 112 IMR in ghost minnow. My big fish went probably 4 lbs the rest slot fish 2-3lbers. No fish I caught had red tails so I am sure these were mostly post spawners. I caught all of my fish in the canal before the bridge in 6-10 feet of water, with the jerk bait above grass. PROP ADVICE
Ok guys, I need help. I own a 185 procraft with a 150XR6. I run a 4 blade 24 Pitch trophy and my boat can only run 55mph (on GPS) with a tourney load at 5400rpm. I see guys running 60-62mph(on GPS) with a similar rig at 5800-6000rpm. Im thinking about switching to a 3 blade to have more top end. My question is what size pitch should i get. 23,24,25? Im trying not to waste $500 on a prop if its not gunna help. Thanks for you help.

Lilly stems. 3/8 oz Blue/black slam dunk jigs on
Cypress trees in 4-5' of water. Lucky craft Sammy topwaters.. Lots of beds empty or with small bucks . We even saw fry on some beds up north.
Did catch a big sacalait on a spinnerbait.
Pulled out the ultralight and caught about 10 before
They shut down for the evening.
