Toledo Bend Field Report by Joe Joslin
CRAPPIE/YELLOW BASS: White perch guide, Noe Garcia, is still catching crappie(white perch/sac-a-lait) in depths of 22 to 25'. He reports he is doing much better on his brush piles located in the middle of the lake and states those in main lake coves are no producing currently. Maybe the water temp and oxygen levels are better there. He is using a tight line, live shiners and is fishing over baited brush piles and reports the mornings have been his best times the past few days. We got into a bunch of yellow bass a couple of days and they were schooling with largemouth bass. They were in about 30' and we caught them on jigging spoons, tailspinners(knock-off) and shallow/small crankbaits ..... Read More

Toledo Bend Field Report by Joe Joslin
MEMO: There are two other new post from us on this site....one on Toledo Bass fishing and one on Crappie/Yellow Bass. Skroll around...they are close.

However, the main challenge last week was wind out of northeast from 15 to 25 mph. In many of my prime areas on the Texas side of the lake the winds blew straight into them causing us to have to move away from many of our prime areas. We were able to find fish trying to use the wind as an advantage and fishing for them ..... Read More

Topwater Action on Lake Hartwell
Conrad Bolt of Seneca, the July winner of the South Carolina Bass Federation Tournament on Lake Murray, says that most people think that you can not catch bass this time of year and certainly, not on topwater. Well, you can, if you know where to find them and throw the “right stuff .”
Around 10:00 am, Bolt's first stop was on the Tugaloo River side of Lake Hartwell on a long point. Near the river channel, this point was 25 feet deep, and the fishfinder showed fish suspended 15-20 feet deep. Bolt said the bait fish start to move on these points and feed as the sun starts to get up.
Bolt first started throwing a chrome Bomber Super Spook and “walking the dog.” After the third ..... Read More
