Redfishing Biloxi Marsh running me ragged
Well another beautiful day in the Biloxi Marsh launch at 0500 am this morning out of BSM, wanted to beat the crowds of BP workers that have to report to work early in the morning down the road...!! that's road is real busy after 0500 am so get to BSM early!!!!
I talk to the engineers that bridge is only temporary until they get a new bridge built where the old one is, for those who have been wondering!
I sure wish people would post some reports, not that i don't like catching limits everyday 15 minutes from the launch and releasing until my hands turn blue, with the peace and serentity of NO one around me in well known areas,, but I saw atleast 40 trailors in the lot at 1100am and ..... Read More

Inshore Bite Has Been On Fire For Week Now! Let's Fish!
Sorry for not posting lately, but for TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS it has been a real busy couple of weeks, and I had trouble logging back in.
Anyway, the inshore fishing has been incredible, and the white trout, ground mullet, and black drum have been on fire.
Catches between 100 to 200 white trout have been the norm, and some really nice black drum have been adding to the rod bending action on each trip.
Haven't been to the isles because the inshore bite has been hard to get away from for most anglers. However, the pompano are out there just need some anglers to help me fish for them Any takers?
Hey, September and October are two of the best fishing months of the year, and big ..... Read More

Dularge Redfish/Trout Action
A great day to be on the water yesterday 'DOWN IN DULARGE'! I fished with Willie Champagne & Gene Ordoyne who were hoping to find some fish for their tail-gateing Saints party tonight. We started off looking for trout in a couple areas and found nothing at all. We hit paydirt at our 3rd location and filled the box to the top. We caught well over 100 fish and the guys kept their 50 fish limit. LSU chubs did all the damage. We caught 10 reds on the way back to the dock on the chubs making for a very good day of 'catching'! I'm finding the trout are starting their northward migration as the fish are stacking up on the reefs and feeding heavy on shrimp. October should be a great month for ..... Read More

Fall Fishing in Charleston
According to Captain John Fuss of Charleston, “The fishing for September seems to be a great start to the fall season.”
“Catches of large red drum both in the breakers and at the Charleston Jettys have been steady.” says Capt. John. “Try fishing on the bottom using fish finder or Carolina rigs with 3oz. weights and # 7/0 circle hooks, tipped with cut menhaden or mullet.”
Capt. John says that the creeks should also be seeing shrimp start to filter in from the ocean, triggering the trout, smaller reds, and flounder. “Concentration on working the whitewash shell points with popping corks for these fish.”
The artificial bite will also start to strengthen for those that like fishing ..... Read More

Venice Update
Good morning guys. It has been sometime since I have made a post simply due to the fact of nothing to report other than the obvious. Enough of that. It seems our summer has come and gone and fall will be soon upon us. I ran north from Port Eads yesterday morning at daylight heading north and flocks of pintails were flying high above the river. The amount of teal in the area right now is strong. Pass a Loutre has alot of birds right now as well as Baptist. The work done by airboats has been suspended for a month so if you decide to come down this weekend you won't be bothered by them. The forecast for the rest of the week looks great for anyone looking to get out. The redfishing right now is ..... Read More

Four Days of Awesome Fishing at Gosier Island!
Fished Friday through Labor Day at Gosier Island, limited out with 50 Friday, 50 Saturday, came up short Sunday 3 people 68 Trout, and Monday (Labor Day) 47 Trout. Except for around 2 dozen Trout picked up at Breton Island on Friday, all Trout were 2 to 4 lbs. It was rough going out Saturday and Sunday morning, we had very few fish before noon. However both days around 2 p.m. the wind died down to nothing and the fish turned on heavy, both days producing doubles of 2 to 4's as quickly as you could boat them. Again rough today on Labor Day without the gift of it calming down this afternoon. The island was protected with the southeast wind and Trout turned on late morning after the tide ..... Read More

Labor Day trip
Short report from a Labor day trip out of the BSM. Ralph and Richard met me at the house around 6 am and we headed to BSM I had the ice and charged batteries this time. We headed across the MRGO to the north side of the marsh ended up out around Bob's Lake. We fished the edges cut's and openings trying to stay out of the waves and wind hardly a bite with the exception of the occasional Catfish. We stayed at it looking for Red Fish Bayou I had missed it the first try but ended up in a cove where we actually caught a few trout. Very few but more than what we caught Saturday which was none. That played out we kept moving around the area hoping to get back on a bite but never happened. Went ..... Read More

Grand Isle Trip
Hit up Grand Isle Saturday. I didn't realize the Redfish Rodeo was going on, but no big deal. Everyone seemed to be off the trout and sinking cut bait for reds in the pass.
Trout bite was virtually non-existent for us in the morning as the tide was coming to a halt. Water clarity on the beach was 6 out of 10. Tide finally dropped hard around 830am and the trout started feeding. The ONLY thing we could get them to hit consistently was live finger mullet. They didn't want plastics, pogies, or topwaters. I normally don't care for fishing live bait too much, but if its all they're hitting, I give 'em what they want. No limits, but had some solid fish in the two-three pound range. ..... Read More

ANGLING ADVENTURES OF LOUISIANA
LA MARSH REPORT
TEACHER & STUDENT ! ! !
I had the good fortune to fish with Lloyd Brandt and his good friend Randy. Randy came in from the Atlanta area. Lloyd taught Randy in college over 10 years ago. They are good friends and love to fish. When they told me of some of the great guides they have fished with in the past, I knew I couldn't come back in without a limit. Charlie Thomason, Frank Moore to name a few. With the water high in the grass the Redfish were hard to reach But this team stuck with it to put a limit in the box. They were ready to call it a day one short of the limit But I talked them into fishing 15 more minutes and Lloyd caught ..... Read More
