| Located in the northwest corner of La., between Vivian and Hosston, this 3,968 acre impoundment is a great lake for bass fishing. A scenic lake with lots of cypress trees, it has a boat lane running through its middle and is mostly suitable for fishing. There is access from a small park located off of La Hwy. 2 at the dam. | ||

the Texas -Louisiana border of Caddo Parish this 25,400 acre lake offers great
fishing for bass, bream, crappie, hybrid stripers, flathead and channel catfish. Caddo Lake is a fascinating, mysterious natural lake of swamps. The Big lake section has wide expanses of broad water dotted at the eastern end with oil wells. The contrasting mossy Break or Eagles Nest is where the world disappears behind walls of moss-bearded cypress trees to leave the fisherman feeling he is in a land of a million years ago. Caddo Lake with it's cypress trees and lily pad fields create a perfect habitat for the Florida strain of bass. Caddo has numerous 6-11 pound bass caught year-round. Caney Lake is located just southwest of Chatham, La. It is an open lake having many pockets and coves, with few obstructions. Caney Lake was stocked with approximately one million Florida largemouth bass. Comprising 5,000 acres this lake is producing bass over 15 pounds and most all of the state records for largemouth bass have been set here. Caney Lake is well known for producing lunkers. Caney Lake also has an incredible bream population. A state record chinquapin(red-eared sunfish) that weighed 2.87 lbs. was caught in August of 1998. So, bring live worms and crickets along with your crankbaits and plastic worms. Big fish abound in Caney Lake. |

| Cross Lake is an 8,575 acre lake located near Shreveport La. Designated as a Louisiana Quality lake, this waterway provides the water supply for the City of Shreveport. Moss covered cypress trees line the banks of this open lake which is a great fishing and recreational boating lake. Supporting waterfowl, alligators and an abundance of wildlife, this beautiful clean lake yields fine catches of largemouth bass, bluegill, red ear sunfish and catfish. There are good access sites, several commercial facilities, and two public parks. | ||

| Located near Benton, outside of Bossier City, Cypress Black Bayou has lots to offer including Camping, Fishing, Swimming, picnic shelters, a Nature Center, and a Petting Zoo. It is approximately 3,875 acres in size, having a length of 6.25 miles long, and a width of 3/4 mile. Launch improvements and restoration projects have been recently completed on the reservoir. The draw down of the lake level was a complete success and the gates will be open when lake level is restored. | ||

| D'Arbonne Lake is a popular bass fishing lake located just south of Farmerville, La. The La. Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries has stocked hybrid striped bass and striped bass in the lake. It is basically an open water lake, with a few areas of dead timber. There are mossy flats that are good bass fishing areas especially in early spring. After the spawn the bass will move into deeper water. Fishing for bream and bass is excellent on this lake. D'Arbonne is included in the top five waters in Louisiana for excellent crappie fishing. | ||

| Grand Bayou is a newly impounded 2,700 acre reservoir located north of Coushatta. The lake was impounded in 1996 and is fully stocked with Florida Bass. Yielding good catches of large bass, sac-a-lait, bream, and catfish, Grand Bayou is destined to become one of Louisiana's best fishing lakes. Camping and picnicking accommodations are also available. | ||

| Great fishing for largemouth bass, red ear sunfish, bluegill and crappie is available on this beautiful cypress studded waterway. Located 3 miles east of Colfax La., this 7,100 acre wooded lake is approximately 1 mile wide and 7.5 miles long. Not recommended for recreational boating Iatt is used primarily for fishing. There are several unimproved access sites around the lake with limited facilities. | ||

| This 17,200 acre clear reservoir has more to offer that just great fishing. It's also the backdrop for the beautiful Lake Bistineau State Park. Located east of Shreveport La., this lake borders three parishes and is a great recreation area for this part of the state. When fishing this lake special care should be taken when navigating due to the dense cypress brakes and stubble found throughout the lake. Listed as one of the top five waters in the state for crappie fishing, the lake also yields fine catches of redear, bluegill, largemouth bass, channel and flathead catfish. Located south of Lake Bistineau is the Loggy Bayou Wildlife Management Area. | ||

| The Red River System with its many pools, bayous, sloughs, and oxbows offers
great fishing for bass, crappie, bream & catfish. It is one of the most
important river systems in the state. With its newly implemented system of locks and
dams, the Red River is quickly becoming one of the best fisheries in the south. The
Red River Waterway Project consists of five lock and dam complexes located between the Old
River Lock on the Mississippi River, 5 miles NE of Simmesport, LA, to South of
Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana. The controllable pools between each lock and dam serve
as passage ways for river traffic. Pleasure craft can be locked through free of
charge. The 1999 Wrangler/B.A.S.S. National Championship took place on pools 4 and 5 near Shreveport, on April 19 -24. The same tournament in 1997 held the record for the most pounds of fish caught during any B.A.S.S. Federation tournament. The 1999 tournament broke two all-time records for the Wrangler/B.A.S.S. National Championship. They were for total tournament weight and single one-day catch. |

Located on the Louisiana - Texas border, Toledo Bend is considered to be one of the finest bass fishing lakes in North America. It was created in 1969 when the Sabine River was impounded near Haddens La. flooding over 181,000 acres of timberland, farmland along with numerous lakes, ponds and creeks. These lakes and ponds provided the major fish breeding stock for the reservoir. Along with the initial introduction of millions of largemouth fingerlings, the lake is routinely stocked with Florida Largemouth's and Striped Bass. The Florida Bass program has made the lake a prime bass fishery. Fishing for all species is excellent on this fine lake. With over 1200 miles of shoreline there are many boat landings, marinas, camping facilities, parks and lodging facilities available. Excellent management of this lake by the Sabine River Authority and Wildlife and Fisheries has given this reservoir a promising and bright future. |
