Bayou State Couples Bass Club September Tournament Results Location: Bayou Pigeon Date: Sept 13, 2003

After a mid summer break the Bayou State Couples were once again treading the waterways of Louisiana looking for the Wiley old bass. After such a long break the members were eager to get back to competition. As usual with the Clubs Ventures into the Wild Depths of the Atchafalaya Basin the members were faced with stormy weather and heavy boat traffic. Considering that I am in a supervisory position, I chose to stay at home and monitor the weather conditions from my house and keep the members posted. In an unbelievable exhibition of our members fishing skills, a total of (4) four bass (yes, your heard me), were weighed in by six couples. Without getting into the weights, first place went to Gary & Stacy Crain, second place went to Jay & Kathy Badeaux and third place went to Danny & Dee Guerin. Any bait companies that would like to contact these couples for sponsorship offers please give me a call. I can say that a dead motor battery handicapped the Ballards. One of our “OLDER” couples, Tony & Dixie Hickman assisted a boater who had broke down. Tony explained to me that he felt that he was getting close to catching a limit of bass, but had to stop and assist this boater.
